What do schools say about Jason's visits?
Jason came to our school as a special speaker for Book Week and boy were we in for a treat! Great presentation, great message and lots of laughs! Jason has a way of connecting and engaging with kids (and adults) that resonates with each person in the room. I love that Jason had the kids take a pledge to reach out to a friend, adult, leader, trusted person if they are feeling sad or overwhelmed or struggling. Such an important message and his new book, SCAR DAKOTA is a read for everyone!!! You are a class act and a great example of kindness! Thank you for making our Book Week so amazing! The kids are still talking about it!
— Sandy Guengerich, GPTA Representative, Grymes Memorial School
Jason Wright uses his amazing story telling abilities to inspire and uplift! He is able to use his own life experiences as wonderful teaching moments that help us all gain wisdom and a strong desire to do good for our communities. Thank you for creating such a strong connection with the students in attendance. We look forward to having you back again soon.
— Dan Combs, American Legion Boys State of Virginia
Awesome, fun, and engaging! Jason kept over 1,300 students focused throughout the assembly with great laughter while reinforcing the message of kindness. His interactive presentation included a powerful anti-bullying message without using the word bully. His visits to English classes, where he taught storytelling techniques, were equally impressive. Thank you for a wonderful day!
— Wendy Nelson, Principal, West Point Junior High
Jason's impact on our community has been profound. People haven't stopped talking about it—showing pictures, proud to be on his Facebook page, and reflecting on how he made them think about their lives. He far exceeded my expectations and personally impacted me. Our community will be changed by his visit.
— Wanda Gray, Youth Services Librarian, Newcomerstown Public Library
I was nervous about how Jason would handle kindergarteners, but he kept all K-6 students engaged with a lasting impact. Several students "wrote books" after his visit, and many were inspired to begin Christmas Jars with their families.
— Angela Eckhardt, Teacher, Larsen Elementary School
Jason's visit was a year highlight. He delivered different meaningful messages to various grades—from saving pennies to make a difference to how small actions matter. Two classes experienced his writing workshop and didn't want it to end! We're already planning to have him visit all eight schools in our district.
— Kirstin Drabek, The Lake School
Staff and students were thrilled Jason spent an entire day providing inspiration and writing workshops. Students noted his humorous, relatable style and personal examples. One said, "He made me feel we are never alone." A workshop participant stated, "His comments made me believe I could actually be a writer." He made each of us feel seen, valued, and capable of greatness.
— Alice Adams, Spratley Gifted Center
Jason's presentation on "The Seventeen Second Miracle" perfectly followed our focus on positive psychology. Using real-life experiences and an entertaining style, he captivated our students with a heart-to-heart conversation that inspired them to be their best.
— Jody Valantine, School Counselor, Washington County School District
Jason's "Words as Weapons" presentation totally engrossed students and complemented our anti-bullying program. He incorporated our bullying survey data, targeting areas of concern. Over 450 students per assembly sat in pin-drop silence as he shared relatable childhood stories about riding the bus to school.
— Doug Yates, Counselor, Lava Ridge Intermediate School
Jason held a gymnasium full of elementary children transfixed for 40 minutes of full engagement—remarkable in this high-tech era. His stories imparted lessons of generosity, taking the moral high ground, and developing empathy. Students were still looking behind them and holding doors after he left.
— Amy Hufnagel, Program Development, Allamuchy, New Jersey School District
Jason was inspiring, teaching us about giving without recognition. He kept the audience's attention for 50 minutes with stories and student involvement on stage. His contagious smile and enthusiasm got us into the Christmas giving spirit.
— Candace Wilson, FCCLA Adviser, Westlake High School
Jason was fantastic! He had all K-4 students' attention with participation and engagement. He was very funny, and students connected with him. Many were inspired to help others and want to be writers. We're already trying to schedule his return!
— Kaylene Yardley, Eagle Bay Elementary
Jason connects with people of all ages. His visit captivated 800 students with the perfect combination of humor, involvement, and character education. Most impressive was watching him personally connect with one particular child, "opening a door" of understanding. He's a kind, gracious guest who tied in perfectly with our character education program.
— David Stephenson, Principal, Traverse Mountain Elementary School
